Continued...
This place had a little card by the bed on this table. It was a tiny little menu that you figured out what time you wanted breakfast, and what you wanted and you just hung it on your door. The next morning, at that time...BAM! There is your f'ing food waiting on you! I know this it probably a simple thing, but for this hick, I was impressed. Ok, I wont bore you much more. I give this hotel a 5 plus star review and recommend it to anyone looking for a cool weekend getaway. The bathroom was amazing, they have a fancy shmancy restaurant downstairs, a Starbucks (go figure) and anything you would really want. There are tons of cool bars and hangouts and places to eat in the area. It's great, check it out sometime if you get the chance. Go to the Blennerhassett Hotel website to see some views of the place for yourself.
A little piece of history in WV
This place was beautiful! I failed to get any pictures of the outside but it is a very old creepy awesome looking building. I did get this picture of the creepy church that was across the street.
It gives you some idea of how old this section of town was. It was very beautiful and really cool.

Lots of words...
The first book I wish to share with you is Confessions of an Economic Hitman. This was a book that the bbboys were discussing on XMradio a few weeks back. It is basically a true story that this man recounts of his life as a hired "consultant" for private companies. He was scouted by the NSA and then hired by a private company to basically rape developing countries. He would go to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and Panama and convince them to take out BILLION dollar loans. The idea behind this was that the loan money would come straight back into America's pockets in the form of hiring US construction companies to build dams, electric plants, roads and even cities. The big fuck over comes in the form of the countries NEVER being able to pay back these loans, therefore defaulting on them, and then the US has them by the balls. They could then muscle their way into the country's government, rule their UN vote and basically run the country the way they wanted. The main goal of this during the 70's was oil. Kind of like today's US regime huh?
The next two books I am only partially done with. The first is Holy Blood, Holy Grail which is a historical look at the Knights of the Templar and the secret society behind them. It is also a speculative look at the possibility of Jesus not dying on the cross and actually living a full life and even bearing offspring with Mary Magdelane. This bloodline would have then ran down through time and lead to the Merovingian Dynasty. Very interesting, will get back to you with more details after I finish.
The other book is Misquoting Jesus: Who Changed the Bible and Why?
This book is written by a leading Christian scholar who is Christian himself so don't think I am going all atheist on you or anything. It is just a VERY interesting look into the historical researching of the oldest surviving texts we have of the Bible. We don't have the originals, we don't have copies of the originals, we don't even have copies of the copies of the copies of the copies. The oldest scripts we have were made almost 3oo YEARS after the originals were written. Therefore, mistakes are made in transcriptions, translations and whatever. People copied stuff wrong, they added things they thought should have been included, they dropped things that went against the new "norm" beliefs, they even changed things to make them fit more to the new Orthodox beliefs. To me, this book has helped me make the personal judgment that the Bible is NOT infallible. Some hardcore Bible beaters say it is the infallible word of God, but how is that possible if it has been changed SO many times over SUCH a long period of time? Did God sanction those changes each and every time? Read the book and make your own decision.
Ok, so there is my review of 3 great books. If you have the time and the interest, check them out for yourself or even ask me and I can let you borrow them. I am picking up some new books in the next few weeks and will have reviews for them also after I slowly make my way through them, damn this partial dyslexia.

Damage Control
At work, all I do is play damage control. It has been a while since I got to build anything new and exciting. All I do is come in, read emails that something is broken, and then spend the rest of the day fixing it. Wish I got paid more for it! Hopefully I will get to go back out to CA for a while and learn some more skills and such in the near future. I really like it out there; I think I am going to move out there next summer or a little later. I will make a lot more money, be closer to my other engineering co-workers and hell, its California! There is a lot of cool shit to do out there when you are that close to San Fran.
So yeah, go over to Flickr and check out my pictures, which I will try to keep rather up to date. Also, check out the Virus over at OpieandAnthony.com. And of course don't forget Spywareguide.com and go to Xblock.com for a free-ware version of the product my company makes! Use the freeware, and if you like it, try the full version 30-day trial. And if you REALLY like it, shell out the $20 and buy it.

While I am here, I will try to post on anything interesting that happens. I will possibly be going up to San Francisco a few times for various activities and will keep you updated.
Is anyone reading this? I see there are no subscribers. I know I am boring and all but damn people, come on! This post may not be very comical, but I promise to try to keep the laughter level up in the upcoming posts.
My flight here was decent. I left at the asscrack of dawn from Huntington and took a very swanky brand new jet over to Cincinatti. There, I was stuck for over 2 hours on layover and it was impossible for me to get an upgrade to firstclass for the trip to CA. Now let me tell you this people, that is a long fucking flight. Usually about 5 hours of hell. This time it wasnt too bad; I couldn't get to sleep but I did get to watch Braveheart on my laptop. I did so because the in flight movie was fucking RV with Robin Williams. When is he going to do something funny again? That movie where he is the Jon Stuart type guy that gets to be president looks to be good but GOOD GOD was RV horrible. I didnt even listen to it, I only glanced up every once-in-a-while. That is how bad it was, no sound and only visual cues were enough to give me the douche chills. No one on the plane laughed...that is bad when a movie bombs with a huge group of bored people.
Check back later this week to see if I have done anything worth while, or only bored you to death with my useless ramblings. Thanks!

I was driving down 3rd Ave on my way to the office and this puts me right past campus. So here I am tooling by and there are students everywhere. I know they are freshmen; it's 8:15 and they are already scurrying about to find their 9am class. I was the same way though. I was a scared lil' douche and was at class at least a half hour early...for like a whole fucking month when I started school. It really does seem like a long time ago that I was hanging out in ol' apartment 117, drinking WAY too much, listening to music WAY too loud and just not giving a shit. Friends were always over...as well as people I had no fucking clue existed. We had some good times back then, some bad ones too. Looking back brings fond memories, of friends I may never see again. It was a lot of fun.
As a student I slacked off and did as little as possible to get the good grades. Now as an "adult" I find myself doing the same a lot of the time. I LOVE my job and get excited when we get new challenging stuff that needs to be done. A lot of it, however, is run of the mill junk that I just run through the motions on. But hey, who could ask for more? I am a TOTAL geek...and I get paid to be one...WELL I might add.
So in closing, today was an anxiety filled day. First day of not having to go back to school was an odd experience. Also, tomorrow morning I leave for Fostery City CA for 2 whole weeks. I've been before, but not for that long. I hate to leave my girlfriend that long; I'm really going to miss her. I also have to leave my cat Lilly and my awesome puppy Stewie. For pics of these bad ass companions, check out the links in my right panel or go here. I am going to try to keep up on the photos and also writing in this blog. If you are a subscriber, or just an avid fan of mine (haha) please kick me in the ass if I do not post every 2-3 days.
Auf weidersehen!

Superman needed just a bit longer...
This article was found while browsing earlier this morning. Such irony that the new Superman movie is coming out next week. I really thought that Reeves would walk again. His family was doing so much and making such progress. The Man O' Steel needed to hang on just a bit more. It would have been amazing to see him walk again and make history.
This is the only Superman I've really known so he will always be my favorite.
[Stem Cells Cure Paralyzed Rats]
...An anonymous reader writes "According to an article on Forbes as well as other sources, 'Scientists have used [embryonic] stem cells and a soup of nerve-friendly chemicals to not just bridge a damaged spinal cord but actually regrow the circuitry needed to move a muscle, helping partially paralyzed rats walk.'"...

I dropped Jenn off at the airport at 4:00am this morning and she headed off to sunny ol Orlando for some theater experience. Yay for her =) I am going to miss her however. Its funny, you dont think much of it while she's here, how much you care for her and how much you feel incomplete when she isnt around, but the second you have to sleep by yourself and dont have her to roll over to...it hits you a little rough.
The religious aspect of this post is that is is Ash Wednesday. Now I am not a Catholic...in fact I am a registered, ordained minister for the Universal Life Church of Modesto California. In WV I can legally perform preistly acts. So if you need marrie, burried, or baptized, come to me! Since I am my own minister, I sort of concoct my own religion. I believe religion is an extremely personal thing that resides in each persons heart, mind and soul. I dont believe too much of any "segregation" of religion, rather I like to blend each part I feel is important into my own style. I like the idea of lent. Therefore, this year I am giving up fast food and soda for 40 days. Not only does this show my devotion by giving up something I am addicted to, it also will help me lose the 15lbs I am trying to drop.
Does that liquid "Hollywood" diet work? I dunno. I am gettin ready to watch American Idol. I like Taylor Hicks...just cant get enough of that Joe Cocker looking mother fucker.
Who do you think will win?

The cool part would have been that after getting the car to Cali, I get to hang out for about a week. Just chill out west, where I have never been of course, and not really do any work. It woulda been pretty nice. Moving on, I added a new link over there on the right...keep lookin...yeah right there. It's a link to the O&A page because their XM radio show on 202 is the BEST FUCKING THING EVER! I am hooked, I listen every morning and even when the guys are sick they play "worst of" bits of their show for the past year and a half. These guys are brilliant! FM radio blows...there is nothing good on there. They have 8 songs that they loop over and over and a 8 min commercial block after each song. They are trying to do the new Free FM approach saying that "some things are meant to be free" which is BULLSHIT. FM radio fucking blows and I pay by listening to fucking commercials which want me to buy shit and I end up doing it. I would 10-1 rather pay my $13 a month to listen to fucking sweet ass XM radio which has great music and GREAT talk radio.
Do it...go get XM...forget Sirius, it blows. Hoo Hoo Howie blows now too. He's been programmed to do shitty radio for the past 15 years and therefore will NOT be able to break out of the vicious cycle of suckdom!

So yesterday I was attempting to use MySpace.com as my new blogging area. This was due to sitting around for hours with my gf Jennifer and reading old LiveJournal updates from my freshman year of college. It was hysterical. Some of the things I said were hillarious and fun to look back on after 4 years of schooling. So I came to the conclusion that I needed a better blog area. I turned to MySpace which I absolutely HATE but I thought I would give it a try. I typed for about half an hour and had a good size entry drafted up. I hit the preview button and it looked great. Hit the back button to do some final tweaking and BLAMMO the shit was gone! All that sarcasim, witt, and satire wasted. I vowed right then and there that I would not blog with MySpace ever again.
So who do I turn to? GOOGLE of course! They make everything so streamlined and effortless that their blogging application must be incredible. I must say, it is. So now when I want to bitch and moan about my last semester of college, or rant and rave about some media story, or review some shit ball movie, or just plain vent out what's stuck in this goofy shaped head of mine, this will be the place to do it.
So I have trashed myspace, now onto FaceBook. FaceBook seems great on the outside. Sure I'll post some pictures and say what highschool I went to so that all my old "friends" can get on and see what "I'm up to." Why not? Then slowly, silently, it creeps into your brain like a batch of bad heroine and next thing you know you are on the corner giving handjobs for money to pay your ISP bill just to get on FaceBook 24/7. My gf has recently fallen into this trap. She gets on every day to see who from her old highschool has signed up. It is fun viewing with her because she points out everyone who "got fat", "had a kid", "got married", or ended up "riding man sausage." Aperently her old high school was a breeding farm for limp wristed pillow biters. Sheesh. As for my old high school, it was a festering pool of jocks who cant let go and the girls they knocked up. I have so many "friend" invites from guys and gals that NEVER once gave me the time of day in school but now feel nostalgic (??) and want to remenis (??) Fuck, I am bad at spelling and this spell checker does not seem to be working. So yeah facebook is addictive and it is going to end up getting some girls killed at some school. Some of these dumb bitches actually get on and post their full names, phone numbers, and addresses, just waiting for some serial killer who lives in town to get on...makes some notes....and then have a hay day with their hides.
Well I'd say this is a pretty decent rant/blog. By the way, I hate the word blog; it sounds so yuppie salesperson. All the suites for the company I work for are super BLOG oriented. Oh well, it gives me something to do in my spare time and I've always heard that stream of concious writing is very healthy and relaxing.
Till next time....
